UNESCO: Durmitor National Park & Piva Region, a visual guide

The Durmitor National Park and the Piva region were formed by glaciers and it’s crossed by numerous streams and rivers, many of which boast a beautiful turquoise color. It has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1980, and it’s one of the most awesome places I’ve been in. I am very sad that we didn’t get to hike in this amazing Montenegrin paradise, but I will surely return in the future for it. We only stopped a number of times in different places with the bus, but it even this short preview left me wanting for more! Here’s why:

Check out a few other highlights of Montenegro, like the Three Best Views of Kotor Bay, Budva in the Rain or Petrovac, a less-crowded alternative to Budva.
