5 To Do’s in Zamora
1. Have breakfast in Plaza Mayor. And have something special, something Spanish (like tortillas). All the while, enjoy the surroundings of the City Hall, and the church of San Juan de Puerta Nueva. A must!
2. Visit the local museums! We went to Baltasar Lobo’s art gallery, but there are three other ones you can visit: Museo Provincial de Zamora, Castile-León Ethnographic Museum, and the Museo de Semana Santa.
3. Take a walk on the riverbank (though, I don’t advise you to do so at noon, when temperature is above unbearable) and sit a while on the grass, relaxand enjoy the surroundings. Or, have a picnic!- it’s a great idea.
4. Shop ’till you drop! I especially advise the local marketplace, where you can buy healthy veggies and fruits from super-friendly local farmers. Also, you should know that there are loads of sales going on in small-town but big-name shops (such as Bershka)
5. Party!!! There’s a whole street crowded with bars, one after the other! (get used to the same music though, they love Spanish and Portuguese songs). Here’s a not-so-good-quality photo (and maybe it’s for the best) of me & my good friend, Mojito in one of the clubs.
