How my Travels began

When I was a baby I had a kind of coughing sickness, where I would cough and cough until I almost choked. My parents took me from doctor to doctor, and soon realized that instead of medicine the best cure for me would be salty air. We went numerous times to the salt mine in Parajd, which is only at an hour’s drive from my hometown, but even that wasn’t enough. Mom and Dad decided we should go to the Black Sea at least once a year for at least a week or more, so I can enjoy the salty climate and it’s benefits.

I have to say, those summer days were some of the happiest of my young life! I was waiting anxiously for departure, always asking my parents how many nights I had to sleep until we were going, packing my stuffed teddy bear weeks before. And then Mom, Dad and I got into our old car, a red 1300 Dacia that was barely moving, but traveling in it was always a great adventure!

So this is an ode to my PARENTS, who, no matter what the situation was, managed to take me to the sea every summer when I was a kid.
