Sibiu Christmas Market – and a Merry Christmas to all!
Last weekend we went to visit Romania’s most beautiful Christmas Market (as I like to call it) in Sibiu, Transylvania. The city is considered one of the prettiest in itself, so imagine it being lit by a million golden Christmas lights. The main square in the city center was packed with small wooden stalls, where local craftsmen were selling their products. A colorful merry-go-round and a tastefully decorated Christmas tree were also part of the visual enchantment we were witnessing. The sweet smell of cinnamon and a cup of mulled wine were warming us up in the cold weather while we were strolling through the small shops. I’ll leave you with a few photos (too bad I can’t transmit any smells but if you put a big cinnamon roll in front of you it might work) and a small Louis Armstrong classic 🙂 MERRY CHRISTMAS to all who celebrate! And may a miracle happen and take this crappy weather away and give us a few snowflakes instead 🙂

Beautiful! I miss winter in December… and all the beautiful traditions that come with it.
Thank you for your comment, Anda! 🙂 Merry Christmas to you and your family! Unfortunately “winter” is nowhere to be found in the cities of Romania, only on top of the mountains..We very much wanted to see Sibiu in white and waited for the very last minute hoping, but still at daytime there were +12 C degrees..
Mmhh, this wonderful smell of cinnamon!
I know, right?
